Restoring Our Community Heritage

In due honor and respect of the dignitaries that paved the way for US,  we dedicate this portion of  Blacksonville.com to share knowledge of the struggle endured by previous generations.  There is so much to the African history of  Jacksonville that we cannot possibly cover it all.  However, we have made great strides to provide our viewers with new information and useful content.  We must engage ourselves in the education of our community through the knowledge of SELF.  Our children cannot contribute to an unfamiliar environment.  We are products of our past,  and "a people without a knowledge of their history shall perish", indeed.

The city of Jacksonville is making efforts to preserve the diversity of our local community.  From Lavilla to Durkeeville;  from American Beach to Fort Mose;  we will attempt to cover the people, the places, and the events behind Jacksonville's African-American experience.  Please assist us by contributing additional information you feel the public must know.   800.863.9130, ext. 1
