Job Description:         You will contribute original news and feature articles of interest related to non-profits, local community initiatives and black business professionals. The content may be derived from your own experiences, work you perform or have done by interviewing someone else and writing a news story, or by identifying, securing and submitting a profile article on a successful individual or minority business. 

                                 You also have the opportunity to leverage your contacts to advertising for Blacksonville, similar to the Blacksonville Marketing and Salesperson role described below.  This will allow you to earn sales commissions.

Location:                    Blacksonville is seeking freelance correspondents living anywhere in the world. The schedule is very flexible with the ability to work from home.

Education:                 A four-year degree or equivalent work experience is required.

Hours:                       Part-time

Compensation**          $20 in complimentary advertising credits (e.g., button, banner, logo, enhanced listing, job posting) for each article approved by Blacksonville management and published on the site.  In addition, you have the opportunity to earn monthly commissions amounting to 25% of the total value of each paid order.  Commissions are paid out monthly and are earned for all paying advertising clients you specifically identify and refer to Blacksonville through your network of individual contacts, small businesses and large companies. In many cases, the subject of your article will be a potential Blacksonville advertiser.

Intangibles:                Blacksonville correspondents benefit from the visibility of having their byline, bio and picture on the Blacksonville Web site. The role will also give you a powerful opportunity to network in your area with the Blacksonville brand.

Experience:                Due to the diversity of topics on the Blacksonville site (Careers, Economic Development, Travel, etc.), experience is flexible.  We prefer you have writing experience on topics of interest within the minority community. Business experience would be helpful.  Entrepreneurship or wealth creation experience or knowledge is a plus.
