African Village
We invite you to be part of the World of Nation Celebration – African Village 2003 - an International festival. FOUR GREAT DAYS on Thursday, April 24, Friday, April 25, Saturday April 26 and Sunday April 27, 2003 at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, Florida. More than 100,000 people are expected to attend this year’s. Ethnic organizations from all over Jacksonville will come together to create a cultural and heritage experience for everyone to enjoy. This years sponsors of the African Village are as follows: African Institute for Community Development, B. Frinks & Associates, Creative Pacesetters 4H Club, Congo Square, Ethiopia, Kemet House, Pablo Renewal in Duval East (PRIDE), Youth Crisis Center (YCC) and One of a Kind.

OLORUN
A Journey to Africa Though Songs & Stories
Olorun is a West African ensemble whose performance highlights traditional West African culture. OLORUN’s presentation is a wonderful blend of music using chants, call-response singing, traditional Yoruba dance and narration.
OLORUN
In the course of the concert, the audience will learn about authentic African customs, history, musical instruments, masquerades and legends, dispelling commonly held myths. The musicians and singers are dressed in traditional West African costumes and use a variety of handcrafted acoustic instruments. Audience response is encouraged. Step show
Over the 4 days over 16,000 school children will be exposed to our wonderful traditions. The step show will be Friday 4/25/2003 and Saturday 4/26/2003.
